FAKE RICE MADE OF PLASTIC IS BEING SOLD ACROSS THE WORLD, HOW TO IDENTIFY?

The rice you buy might not be real rice. Recently, an investigation in Asia discovered that there is a mass production of fake rice which is made of plastic. 

The plastic rice was first discovered in China, and then in Vietnam and India. Today, this kind of rice is also being sold in Europe and Indonesia.

The plastic rice is impossible to be recognized since it looks exactly the same as the real one.

According to some newspapers, the plastic rice is made of synthetic resin and potatoes. Other reports claim that this rice also contains certain toxic chemicals.

The plastic rice has to be avoided because it can cause some severe damages in the digestive system.

Many markets across the world are selling this kind of rice since they cannot identify if it is real or fake. However, in some countries, such as Malaysia, the large markets are on a great control, and they do not sell fake rice.

How to Avoid Eating Fake Rice?

Even though you cannot avoid buying fake rice, you can avoid consuming it. In order to identify if the rice is real or fake, you should boil it.

Before boiling it, both the real and the fake rice have an identical form. However, after boiling it, the fake rice maintains the exact same form like before while the form of the real one changes.

Also, you can try burning a handful of rice. If the rice is fake, you will notice the smell of plastic.
